Okay I don't do a lot of political writing here, afterall this blog is about me being a recovering straight girl; but this wee bit of political drama just rubbed me in a way so wrong that I HAD to bring it to the light of my blog.
Barbara Bush, former first lady and mom to our stupid-ass president actually said THIS to a reporter yesterday in reference to the thousands of refugees at the Houston astrodome.
"What I'm hearing is they all want to stay in Texas," she said. "Everyone is so overwhelmed by the hospitality. And so many of the people in the arena here, you know, were underprivileged anyway, so this, this is working very well for them."
OH HEEEELLLLLLLLLL NO SHE DIDN'T JUST SAY THAT????

Woo make sure you Tivo Oprah tomorrow. She is broadcasting from the Astrodome today and tomorrow. It is heartbreaking. And Oprah doesn't waste any opportunities in pointing the finger for the suffering after the hurricane where it belongs, directly at our knob of a president.

This whole thing is just making me sick, and these comments that keep coming out of all the Bushes mouths, I just want to slap them. All I can keep hoping is that all the children who have been caught up in all this will either forget because they are young, or some how be able to recover from all the horror they saw and still be able to grow up and live good lives.

It is just unbelievable. I always thought she was a decent Bush. I liked her, I thought she was feisty. I am stunned that anyone would say that. I'm not usually political on my blog, either. Actually, the kind of "spinning" that you mentioned here is what inspired me to publish my post today. Not at all political, but just to show that in the right (or wrong) hands, lies can become truth.

GET ME OUT OF HERE!!! The stars are not brighter here (deep in the heart of Tex-Ass,) and when they say that everything is bigger in Texas, they mean that everyone is fatter here. That includes me. I've gained about 20 pounds since moving here. I'm blaming the Bush's. (and El Nino.)
HOWEVER, I will just say that the people here, in general, tend to be very friendly and hospitible.
