I color my own hair

which LBCG finds apalling. But when LBCG said that she counted "numerous" grey hairs, I figured it was time for a color job.

I should have known when I started washing my hair and it looked like someone was murdered in my shower that I was in trouble.

The lady at the beauty supply store said that it would be brown with red highlights.
That my natural color was so dark, it would actually be MUCH lighter than the swatch showed.

Uh, Beauty Supply Lady.
You were wrong.

I look like a cheap hooker.
Or a cheap stripper.
Something cheap.

Oh good lord.
It will fade, right?

Don't tell LBCG.
But maybe she's right.
Maybe I SHOULD pay someone to do my color?

Yes, you can't tell us you look cheap without posting a picture to prove it!

If it's really that bad, wash it a few times with Tide. I did that once in college.

Yes, pay someone to do your hair, sister. You work hard enough for that coin. :)

It will fade. I hope it's not pink, though. You know, old lady pink. Or burgandy. ****shudder****

I've gone both routes before: coloring it myself, and having it done professionally. I have mine done every 3 months or so, but if I had to do it frequently, I'd do it myself. It's expensive! If you don't want to wash your hair with Tide, try that Neutrogena super cleanse stuff.

It will fade..Within a week or so it will fade a lot. But go with LBCG on this one..just go pay someone to do it. It always looks so much more fabulous'er when someone else does it for you.
You colored it right before we all went to California..or was that a cut? Or both?

C'mon, let us see the pic. I cant diagnose without seeing what it looks like.
But I'm guessing you probably need something easy like a non-peroxide colorwash just to tone down the red or they even have shampoos that will deposit a little color.

Certain things I leave to a professional... especially stuff on the top of my head.

I have a fantastic stylist down here RSG, he's done my hair exclusively for 4 years- he now does my friend "Everestgirl," well- let me clarify...he does her hair.

His fees are reasonable and he's super nice- I'll totally call and make an appointment for you.

Besides, don't you need to come hang out in mellow Eugene and unwind a little... and the girls can head-to-head with their DS systems!

I've been coloring my hair for so long I can't remember when it wasn't colored. For years I did it myself, but found that it always faded quickly. If you're going to do it yourself, though, Ferria stuff looks good and has highlights built into it. If you can, let the hair stylest do it, see what colors he/she uses, then go get the cheap stuff that's similar if you want to do it yourself. :)

With beautiful eyes like that no one will notice the hair anyway/ It isn't bad at all, and it will fade.
