I am a writer, blogger and columnist in Portland, Oregon where I live with my wife Cher and our three teenage daughters. The estrogen in our house sometimes reaches toxic levels. I am a recent graduate of Portland State University and begin graduate studies forthwith in the MFA program for Creative Nonfiction. I hope to finish graduate school before my children do. Cher and I recently acquired a Macgregor 26X sailboat because our lives were way too stagnant and boring and we had nothing to spend money on. It's an adventure that neither of us are prepared for and therefore, should be interesting. i pre-ordered ya-yas in bloom as a christmas gift for myself. it arrived the day after it was released, the day i left for jamaica. i read it in one sitting on the beach. it got mixed reviews, but i am a rebecca wells fanatic, so of course i thought it was wonderful. i'd love to hear your thoughts on it when you finish. great photos!

So far, so good; although I must say that after "Little Altas Everywhere" Vivi left a bad taste in my mouth. I know she had a fucked up childhood, and I guess this book will reveal a lot more of that. I'm only on about the fourth chapter.
