About Me
- Name: Kathryn
- Location: Portland, Oregon
I am a writer, blogger and columnist in Portland, Oregon where I live with my wife Cher and our three teenage daughters. The estrogen in our house sometimes reaches toxic levels. I am a recent graduate of Portland State University and begin graduate studies forthwith in the MFA program for Creative Nonfiction. I hope to finish graduate school before my children do. Cher and I recently acquired a Macgregor 26X sailboat because our lives were way too stagnant and boring and we had nothing to spend money on. It's an adventure that neither of us are prepared for and therefore, should be interesting. I can be found at: kathrynmartini.com recoveringstraightgirl.com and most recently, martinisserenity.blogspot.com

I'll trade you. Yours for mine?
Yeah..thought that would shut you up!
;)
I know, we might need to get a vacation away from them. I'm thinking Maui...you wanna come?
Well, at least they're sitting on the couch together, not fighting with each other. LOL!
mine are 19, 18 and 15
at that point they either hibernate and eat everything in sight or ask for money to go somewhere.
Anywhere other than here.
I'm broke.
I miss having summer vacations.
Love! the red walls.
Kristine: I wouldn't know what to do with that one boy that you have. They're a mystery to me.
I am so with you on Maui. Hell, I'd settle for Crescent City and just being drunk for a couple of days, (minus the tsunami warning.)
Sassyfemme: That was a just a calm moment; the fighting is constant, constant, constant. I don't get it at all; I was an only child.
Annie: I'd happilly pay them off to let me sleep in...I'll look forward to that!
SFG: I know. Me too.
Valerie: I love that color too. I had it in my previous house and just painted the same color in my new house. It's called Brickdust. Believe it or not, I had the walls that color prior to buying my couch.
Curly: Back when you were a kid...you were stealing kids bikes and sneaking vodka from your mother's liquor cabinet...
you use the word fuck about as much as angelina jolie in girl, interrupted. i love it! you are too sweet, girl.
I have that same picture hanging in my living room!!! (The Paris one with the lady and the Eiffel tower.) You have great taste.
I saw you at Annie T-B's. Love your screen name, love your blog's look?
Are you familiar with this site?

Your kids are adorable, too! (In a potentially taxing way, but that's okay. Especially for those of us who don't have to live with it 24-7! ;-)
Blessed be!
By the way, that first question mark was actually supposed to be an exclamation point. I do not question my own opinions. ;-)
Blessed be!
Oh my hell..I totally feel your pain on this one girly. I got kids laying round here EVERY fucking where. I hate SUMMER.
Camille: No, you're sweet.
MW: I do have good taste, I have you as a blogging friend don't I?
Crackerillo: I will check that site out, seems like it would fit me!
lealea: Yes, we'll see how it goes!
Pissy: Let's run away, far, far, away!
OMG I feel for you, I have a clingy toddler, a whiney pre schooler and a smarty pants 3rd grader, all who are bored...and school isnt even out yet.
K your all jerks because your on summer vacation. I spent today in a grade 4/5 classroom. They are all dying until June 30th. I have decided I am teaching PE and Art next week and combining the course and calling it PHART.

2 more weeks.
I am jealous.

I found you through Annie's blog, glad I did! My son navigates from couch to couch in the neighborhood. They play outside, or they hang in front of someone's tv doing video games.
