Locks of Love

For the past several months, my three beautiful daughters have been growing out their hair in order to donate it to Locks Of Love.

The hair was getting so very, very long and I was beginning to go out of my mind with the brushing and the tangles and the whining and the complaining.

So Friday was the DAY!

I found out that Great Clips will do your haircut for FREE if you are donating to Locks of Love AND they will send it in for you; yippee! I get my kids hair out of their eyes, Locks of Love gets hair, and I don't have to PAY for it! Woo, fucking Hoo.

So here is the photo blog of the big haircutting event:

Unfortunately DD#3's hair was just a wee bit too short. (It needs to be a minimum of a ten inch ponytail. She was quite sad, but she'll get to go and donate her's all on her own (sans sisters.)

It was a wonderful, cool thing to do; and I am so glad that they now have short hair that won't drive me CRAZY!

I hope that someone, somewhere who is able to benefit from my daughter's hair will enjoy it!

Cheers Bloggers!

That is so incredibly awesome! I was the one that commented on how jealous I was of your daughter's hair (I still am! They have such shiny, healthy, beautiful STRAIGHT hair ~ short or long).

The reason behind them growing their hair out (for donating) is just incredible. What a wonderful way for you & your daughter's to help those in need!

Fabulous! I'm sure they look lovely now, and they probably feel all warm and gushy inside. AND you don't have to deal with the long hair every day. A win/win situation if I ever heard of one!

That is so awesome. And I can tell you that kids the same age as your daughters benefit from programs like that. One of my best friends works as a social worker in pediatric oncology and one of the exciting things she gets to witness is when little kids who've lost hair because of chemo get to pick out a wig! It really is a ray of sunshine in their otherwise sad and stressful lives.

Now you made me cry...I know firsthand the joy of someone who has a wig with real hair....to buy
a real hair wig for most people it is out of the question....so the group which sponsors what your kidlets did....is a stupendous group.....and god bless them, and
god bless you....for the many hours
of hair combing, getting out the nests of hair....they will bring
smiles to faces....real people, with real disease....who will now
have real hair...all of you get

A#

Now....I vote for you to process on your blog....for that is what I try to do...with a little humor,
but I decided today...some of what is on my mind is not funny...so I figure...people read, or they don't
sorta like well just flip the channel....this is real life, with
real problems...and while we all try to grin and bear it as the saying goes....sometime at least for me...i need to let my pain show
in what I write....and say how scared I am....which is life...we all have problems and we all have stuff...stuff we need to be able to process.....so if you are accepting votes....I say yes....
the beauty of the blog....its all yours...and as you taught me....it's quite simple to remove a post that serves no purpose...

I wish you well...."me thinks" you have a heart the size of Texas!

Shalom,
Sarah

You are a very wise mom to encourage your girls to do this. They'll remember it forever. Way to go RSG.

I always wanted to donate my hair to locks of love; it is to the top of my thigh and I plan on donating it as soon as I get the nerve to cut it.
